Windows Vista, Wordpress 2.1 and New Look
This has been a big week of updates for me. I’ve upgraded from XP to Vista, Installed Wordpress 2.1 and even upgraded the look and feel to this blog. Here’s how it all went… it was really easy.
Windows Vista
First of all… I’m extremely impressed with Vista. Aside from learning how to navigate the new system, it went extremely smooth. I actually bought it online and downloaded it. I have to say their servers are not the fastest in the world. It was a 2.5 Gig download which should have taken me less than an hour, but it took 24 HOURS to download the install file.
So once it downloaded all the way, I went to install it and it told me that Norton AntiVirus had to be removed to continue the install. This wasn’t a big heartbreaker for me since I’ve always felt Norton’s was a huge memory hog. So I did it and pushed the button the for the install.
The whole upgrade process took about 2 hours or so. But… I have to say, I”m a Vista lover now. I think my computer is 3-4 times faster than it ever was and I’ve had not problems whatsoever except for updating a couple drivers.
Wordpress 2.1
I saw it came out and immediately I decided to upgrade to see the new changes and such. Well, aside from cosmetic changes, I didn’t notice too much, but Wordpress does run faster. From what I understand, there were some mysql changes which makes Wordpress run faster. I think it does. So this went really smooth too with not issues with any of my plugins… YEAH!
New Look and Feel
Well, as you’ve noticed, I upgraded the look and feel to my site. I’ve looked long and hard for anything I liked. I wanted something more Web 2.0 for this blog. So with some modifications, I came up with what you’re looking at now. I still have some adjustments and some more changes I want too make, but I’m pretty happy with the end result.
That’s it for now… talk later.

Armand,
I purchased the two Michael Lee Austin CDs, but never did get the link for the audio download. I knew I would not be available for the live feed, but figured the audio would come out shortly.
Could I get the link, or, if you are not going to make an MP3 of the audio, could I get a refund and return the two CDs?
