Presidential Elections Are All About Marketing

Get blog updates and more.

Presidential Elections Are All About Marketing internet marketing general articles I’ve been watching the process of the U.S. Presidential elections. It’s interesting to watch all the people try to win the vote of Americans. The marketing strategies have been vast and the Internet has certainly played an important role in the outcomes so far.

The Biggest Politcal Marketing Move Was Left Untouched!

The Republican candidates were invited to a debate on Fox News last Sunday. Fox News chose NOT to invite Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter. This has caused a major stir especially with Ron Paul fans. They have been literally bombarded Fox with protests and mass emails being sent to them.

But…

The fact that Fox News chose NOT to include these two gentleman could have been used as a major political move by one of the other candidates.

If one of them would have simply refused to appear siting it was UNFAIR since the other two candidates were not invited, they would have won major points and support from a large number of people. This is not even mentioning the amount of press they would have received as a result in doing so.

  1. That certainly would’ve been a phenomenal marketing move. It’s too bad that more of our candidates for office don’t exhibit some savvy along these lines.

However, you can bet that Rudy Giuliani would not have done so. It appears that he may be in cahoots with Fox News. Check out this story about the apparent connection between Rupert Murdoch/News Corp and Giulani.

  2. Thanks for the heads up! Really great post. That’s a must-read I must
    say. :)

  3. Excellent observation, Armand. If Huckabee had done it, he might have actually earned some of my respect. Or any candidate for that matter. Unfortunately, with most of the candidates, it’s the same old stuff.

  4. Considering Ron Paul finished above Giuliani in most of the contests so far, it’s ridiculous to think that Giuliani is considered a serious candidate and Ron Paul is not.

But then any of the ‘main’ candidates bowing out because democracy or fairness or the right to be heard was an issue would have been out of character for any of them. To them, better to get their face on the screen and throw some more feces at the other front runners.
