I finally fixed popup boxes in Firefox!
I finally fixed a very annoying problem I’ve had since upgrading to FireFox 1.5. Since I’m using 2.0 now, this problem has been going on for quite sometime. The problem was that every time I went to a webpage with a popup window via a link, the popup size was never correct. It was usually too small. In fact, most of the info on the popup couldn’t be read. Needless to say it was a pain in my butt… I finally found a fix!!! Yeah… Here it is.
In FireFox… Click on Tools, Options, Content Tab and In your Advanced JavaScript Settings, make sure this is UNCHECKED… Move or Resize existing Windows. That’s what did it for me! Hope this helps.

Microsoft Firefox 2007….no comments, just take a look

I’d been wondering why that was happening; thanks!
Armand
Why do you use Firefox versus IE? I tend to keep my computer as close to “out of the box” as possible in order to identify with newbies and their problems and issues. But you seem to think it’s worth the effort to make the switch, so can you give me reasons to switch?
Jeanette
I think it’s a bad idea.
Best solution I found was to ENABLE Tools>Options>Content Tab>[Advanced] JavaScript Settings>Hide the status bar.
Other options on this window are free to change.
Sorry for my english.
Hey Armand,
Thanks for the fix! I have been having this problem on firefox for a while!
And Jeanette, I and Armand (I think) use firefox because the pages load faster, its safer, and you can add sooooo many extensions.
It just saves so much time!
Hope this helps!

Hey Armand
We are redeveloping our site and I use FFox & IE all the time. All of a sudden (for no reason) I couldnt see popups in FF anymore and then couldnt resize. Its been driving me mad all week!
I had a fiddle around with my settings a few times but no joy. So Googled my question and came here.
I found that I checked everything (apart from ‘Move or resize existing windows’) to fix it.
So thanks Armand.
BTW – Firefox is how a browser should be and its what IE7 is based on (90% anyhow). I use an IE tab extension that allows you to use IE from within FF. As a developer and someone who likes to interact on the web, there is simply nothing better than FF.
Get it now and start discovering.

God bless Armand for starting this thread and his advice and Makutist for giving the answer that SOLVED MY PROBLEM!!!! Hurrayyy!!!!
Will have to try that one.
I got around it by typing ‘about:config’ into the address bar and resetting “dom.disable_window_open_feature.resizable” to TRUE.
Didn’t have to adjust anything but still have to resize window manually.
I can fix opening popup in FF useing a javascript code and onclick NewWindov command. It always open only halfe of new window and always with status bar, no matter if I turn it off, but when I turn off status ber in browser (View ->Status Bar) generally it opens new windows correctly.
I could literally kiss you! This has been driving me crazy for months now. Thanks to Google I was able to find your answer to my problem.
I have no more popup new window problem in FF, but I still don’t know what was the error. Seems I couldn’t find it, I have just reinstalled FF and then everything goes OK. So, it was, probably software error?!
However… how do you like my website???
OKAY! I am voting for you as our next president! California Apostille and the others stole my words! I swear this has been driving me up the wall about firefox for the longest time. i googled popup box in firebox and found this wonderful site. thanks a million!
this is also a very smart lesson in internet marketing. solve a problem that can be indexed in google. I would have never found your site otherwise.
Thanks Armand, the funny thing is that this morning I was listening to you and Russell Brunson on a call together and here 2 hours later I find a fix to a firefox problem that has plagued me for months on hubpages and other sites.
The fix works, thanks!
Armand,
